Get "Simple" with Your Day Cream

I get to try a lot of creams and moisturizers, and even though many are good they still don't "wow" me. That was until I tried Simple Skin Care's Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Day Cream with SPF15.  I know it seems like a normal vitamin enhanced moisturizer with sun protection, but it's the texture that I fell in love with.  Sure I love the fact that it has vitamins and nutrients to help keep my skin looking great, but the texture of the cream was just fabulous!

So you know how most cream moisturizers are either heavy and slightly greasy feeling or thicker and slightly tacky?  Well the Simple Skin Care cream was like taking lightly whipped marshmellow fluff (minus the stickiness) or air-filled meringue and applying it to my face, but there is more to it than that.  To get all of the details, including the shockingly low price, check out my Review of Simple Skin Care's Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Day Cream with SPF15.

Metromint Water Taste Test - Day 6 of 6

Well, today is the final day of my 6 days taste testing of Metromint Water.  I've saved the best for last, and I actually already tested it and blogged on it earlier.  Day 6 is about Metromint Chocolatemint Water. If you haven't already noticed, this is my absolute favorite of the 6 flavors available.  I could probably live off of cases of this water for the rest of my life!  I LOVE the perfect blend of chocolate and mint, all while getting my much needed hydration each day.

So just incase you missed it the past 6 days, here is the breakdown of the Metromint Water Taste Testing ranking:

#1 Chocolatemint
#2 Spearmint
#3 Orangemint
#4 Peppermint
#5 Lemonmint
#6 Cherrymint

It's been lots of fun as well as refreshing over the past 6 days, and I hope all of you have taken something away from this.  I hope you take the opportunity to try one of Metromint's waters the next time you're out and see it on the shelf.  Again, I highly recommend the Chocolatemint!

If you're a chocoholic like me and want to give into the indulgence of Chocolatemint Water then check out this great deal at Amazon.com.

The Perfect 10 Diet for a More Beautiful You?

So I was watching The DRs on NBC today and they were talking about things such as diets, wrinkle fixes, cellulite, etc. I just love this show! They always have some great topic going on and there are always tons of really useful information. So today one thing they were talking about was The Perfect 10 Diet by Dr. Michael Aziz.

Dr. Aziz said that "40% of calories come from carbs, 20% from protein, and 40% from fat" on his diet plan, for supposed faster weight loss results that will actually last. This diet promotes natural foods instead of the bad processed foods, and also focuses on 10 key hormones (insulin, leptin, glucagon, thyroid hormone, human growth hormone, cortisol, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), estrogen, progesterone and testosterone) which are supposed to play a specific role in your weight loss and health in the long-term. I suppose the title makes sense now.

So I have tried the South Beach Diet in the past and it worked, but it consisted of a lot of food prep, big grocery bills, more time than I actually have in a day, and I have to admit that Phase 1 was hard and just plain sucked. I have been looking for a different way of eating, especially since my rheumatologist got on me a couple of weeks ago for gaining X amount of pounds over the holidays.

I will be checking into The Perfect 10 Diet to see if it will be a better fit for me. I am looking for something that is more of a suitable lifestyle instead of a diet plan that requires frozen food or supplements. So this diet looks interesting. It has 3 stages, which reminds me of the SBD, so we'll see just how different it really is. Have any of you guys tried this diet before? Leave a comment because I would love to hear about it! Or do you have a diet plan that works well for you? Feel free to share that here too!

Metromint Water Taste Test - Day 5 of 6

Well we are reaching the end of my 6 Day Taste Testing of Metromint Water. Today is day 5 and I taste tested Metromint Spearmint Water. After tasting Peppemint yesterday I can now compare Spearmint to it by using a gum analogy. Basically the one you would like the best depends on the type of gum you prefer; Wrigley's Doublemint (green package) or Wrigley's Spearmint (white package). I'm using Wrigley's because that is exactly what they remind me of. The minute the Spearmint Metromint Water hit my lips it whisked me back in time to childhood when I would ask my mother for 25 cents so I could buy my own pack of Wrigley's Spearmint Gum. Yep, I was a spearmint fan!

As far as the cooling factor, the Spearmint Water has a higher number in the chill factor so it's not supposed to refresh you as much as the Peppermint Water. Personally I think that it would be a matter of your personal taste and preference. I believe that the Spearmint Water would be more refreshing for me on a hot summer's day instead of the Peppermint, but that's only because I like the taste more. So with that said I definitely have to rank the Spearmint higher than the Peppermint, but will it beat out the Orangemint and Chocolatemint? I do think that it was better than the Orangemint because it was not only refreshing but also had the ability to take me back in time for a brief moment. It does not beat Chocolatemint, however, since I am a complete and utter chocoholic. So the ranking for Spearmint Metromint Water is #2 out of 6.  Tomorrow is the FINAL DAY, which means the crowning of Metromint Chocolatemint Water as the winner...so check back!

If you are a Wrigley's Spearmint instead of a Doublemint person, then I would highly recommend checking out this great deal from Amazon.com for Metromint Spearmint Water.

Metromint Water Taste Test - Day 4 of 6

So today is day 4 of my 6 days of taste testing Metromint's line of water.  Today I taste tested Metromint Peppermint Water and wowzers!  There was definitley a lot more mint flavor than the other flavors that I have tried so far, but I have to say that I REALLY liked it!

The best way of describing the Peppermint Metromint water is by relating it to a really great piece of peppermint gum.  You know the refreshing feeling you get when you chew a piece of really minty gum?  The instant cooling sensation that travels from your taste buds to ever inch of your body within seconds...it's something like that.

I have to admit though that at first I was a little blown away by the intense peppemint flavor, and thought that it may have been a little too much.  But then it grew on me very quickly and I couldn't stop drinking it.  I then thought about sitting in 99 degree weather, on the beach, with a giant glass of crushed ice, filled with Metromint Peppermint Water.  I can only imagine how refreshing that will be! Of course, right now I am still buried in several feet of snow so I can only dream of summertime and warm days ahead where I can sit and sip an instantly refreshing water like this one.

Now for the ranking.  It still doesn't top the Chocolatemint flavor, but it is very good.  Was it as good as the Orangemint though?  I have to say not quite, and give Metromint's Peppermint Water a ranking of #3 out of 6...so far.  There are 2 days left, including tomorrow which I will be taste testing the Spearmint flavor, so check back to find out!

If you love that rush of peppermint flavor and would like to stock up on Metromint Peppermint Water for summer, or really anytime, then check out this great deal at Amazon.com.

Metromint Water Taste Test - Day 3 of 6

So today I am posting a little late, but it was my anniversay so I've been out and about for dinner and things. I did get to taste test the Metromint Lemonmint Watertoday to see if it was any different than just adding some fresh lemon slices to your filtered or bottle water.

I will say this...it was refreshing and slightly minty, but I'm not sure if I would spend the extra bucks on the Lemonmint flavor. I say this because the lemon was very subtle and almost not there. The mint wasn't overpowering, but it made it hard to find the lemon taste. I wasn't looking for lemonade or anything, but I think you get more of a lemon taste when you have a lemon wedge in a glass of water at a restaurant.

So here is the breakdown of my review of the Lemonmint Metromint Water. It was refreshing with a nice hint of mint. The lemon taste was hard to find under the mint, but it was still slightly there. I believe that if the lemon was kicked up a little, then this would be a perfect drink during the hot days of summer when you're craving cold lemonade. After all, you would get the perfect taste of lemon while cooling you down with the added mint, but without the calories or sugar. Throw in some ice cubes and it's party time! Since the lemon flavor was not very present, I will have to place Lemonmint at #5 out of 6 for now. It may get rated higher within the next couple of days if Peppermint and SpearMint don't do well. Check back tomorrow for day 4 of my 6-day taste test to see how Peppermint Metromint Water does!

And if you'd like to give Lemonmint a go for yourself then check out this great deal from Amazon.com.
